[Live!: AHoA] Optional Sketchbook Assignment 3: Characters Drawn from Life (and Death) - "Alex"

"Alex" (2014) by Ricardo Roehe.

Can you spot this boy's story? Can you guess his age? His name? What he liked? And how he died?

Here is his true story...

He was living with his mother but she was having trouble keeping him at school (maybe because of money, maybe other reasons, I don't know for sure), so she sent him to live with his father.
That man was a criminal, a drug dealer and unemployed, but she risked it because of Child Protection Council's threat of taking her child. She couldn't be more wrong...
Because the shy kid liked belly-dance and dish washing, his father would teach him "lessons" to be more "manly". Days ago, the monster father went too far: the boy died as result of a beating session.

He was a very intelligent, quiet boy. Calm, obedient, a good student - and would probably prefer staying at school than at home (but his father probably kept him held inside home most of the day). He never complained to his family, nor school, neither neighbors.
He was just 8 years old.

He had big eyes, with long eyelashes. He liked to dance "forró" (a folk dance from Brazilian Northeast) and to play with toy cars. He had skinny body - even starting to show signs of malnutrition. I tried to display every violence mark stated on the report I read, but some were under his clothes.

A very sad story.

(The original report can be fully read - in Portuguese - here: http://www.folhadosertao.com.br/noticia.php?page=noticiaCompleta&id_noticia=23632)
